Welcome to our Class: Class Meets for 7 Weeks. 1st week of class, we use this site, but after 1st week we switch over to our online class Edmodo. After 1st week this site will not be updated.

Computer Technology 6 Computer Technology 6 familiarizes the student with basic computer functions and safe internet use. A variety of integrated projects provide students with the opportunity to enhance their use of word processing, spreadsheet and graphics applications. Additional software and multi‐media technology is used to create presentations and reinforce problem solving skills.

Day 1: Welcome!
  1. We will get you all Logged on!! I am so happy you are here.
  2. Introductions:
  3. Today we will go over expectations and rules.
  4. Set up Typing Club Account - Write your Log on Information in your Student Planner. We will transfer this over to a Lockbox file.
    • Typing Club Help Create your account Link and create an account. Spend 10 minutes practicing.
  5. Need to Bring your Head Phones by tomorrow.

Day 2
  1. Finish Expectations from yesterday. After Reading this page, Go to this link and Read and Answer the questions: Link to Computer User Agreement: This will be treated like your signature and that you understand how our class will operate.
  2. Sound 101 Open this Link: Make sure you have your headphone.
  3. Go to your folder. Folder Help use link. Create a Computer folder. Create folders for other classes. Drag and Drop file to class folder.
  4. Log into your Email account go to school home pageLog into your Email account: Add signature Name (First and Last) Title (6th grade Otms student) Email address
  5. Teach you how to use the Snipping Tool to take a screen shot of your folder. Link to Snip and screen shot off any device
  6. Go to Typing Club Go to Link: http://otmscomputer.typingclub.com/?sign=498674782731after you have your folder cleaned out and a folder created for each of your classes. Make sure to create a computer folder.

Day 3: Hopefully we can all log on today? I am keeping my fingers crossed.
  1. Log into Typing Club I will set the timer for 10 minutes.
  2. You will join Edmodo today. Open this Link to Learn about Edmodo, learning targets, and use the Thinglink for learning the parts of the Edmodo Window.
  • Set up your Account: How use this LinkWe will log in to our Email Accounts. I will show you how to access off of our school website. Log on is exactly the same as log on.
  • Edmodo: These instructions with help you if you already have an account or if you don't have an account. DO NOT CREATE A NEW ACCOUNT IF YOU ALEADY HAVE ONE! I will give you the code to join our class.

Day 4: Edmodo Setting, Google Drive and Lockbox
  1. Update your Settings, add avatar You cannot have an image of you for your avatar use the creator in Edmodo. Select Time: Central Standard Time Country: United States Confirm your Email. Log into your Email to click on your blue confirmation of email. The Red "x" will change to a green check mark. Verify your email address. It might come to your Spam folder. Spam is in More settings.
  2. Edmodo settings: Career Goal and Learner Type
  3. Add to Backpack: Go to Folders and Add a 6th Grade Computer Folder Go to Backpack and Add the following as Links.
  4. Make sure to place in your Computer Folder
  1. We will Marry your Edmodo Account to your Google Drive Account. Click Accept

Day 6
Friday, December 5
1. Today you will turn in the Snip we took yesterday of your student folder. What I need to see is a computer folder and a folder for all of your classes and NO orphan files.
2. You will turn in your first assignment via Edmodo.
3. If you have your parents set up an account you will get extra credit. You will need to give them the parent code which is located on Your home Edmodo screen. They can use the link below to follow. It has to be set up by 10/31/2014 for extra credit.
4. I will show you how to add an app called Floor Planner. Design a fun room using Floor planner
5. Typing Club, if you finish lessons 1-10 take a snip of your work and save it as a jpeg and call is TC 1 to 10. The turn in box is open and you can turn it in if finished. If not you need to work as lessons 1-10 are due Monday, Dec. 8

2.You have today to work on Module 1. You will need head phones. Snip your final score and place it in the turn in box. The test itself will let you know if you need to retake it. There are 40 questions. Basic Computer Quiz, if you did not pass with an 85% you need to retake today and Snip your score plus what you missed and turn in to the Turn in Box.
3 Done with everything, Check your progress and Notification in Edmodo.

2. Go through Module, World Wide Web. It will have 33 questions. Score of 85% or higher. If you need to go through the 2nd time to better your score do so.
3 Typing Club at end after you finish. Turn in 21-30 when ready it is due on Monday, Jan 5.
4. Go to your Edmodo Progress tab. Make sure you are adding your snips to your items you are turning in.
